Walking (Dogs) 16:49 [3] 0.8 mi (21:02 / mi)

Biking (Gravel/paved hills) 1:58:42 [3] 26.7 mi (13.5 mph) +1522ft
shoes: 2019 Salsa Fargo

Hamburg/Katy/Duke/Terry

Set up Fargo singlespeed for Spotted Horse and then probably the rest of the winter. Maiden voyage was not particularly confidence-inducing. My first SS mtb experience definitely felt better, but maybe that was because I had no expectations. Had to walk part of two hills on Duke. :-/

Orienteering (Kirkwood) 43:00 [2] 2.0 mi (21:30 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Caldera

Mileage is a guess since my phone freaked out and stopped recording halfway-ish through. Went with Jeff and Jacob, and it was a lot of fun to be out with them, even if Jacob was a pain in the ass every time I talked to friends before/after: "This is supposed to be FAMILY time", my punishment for making him miss an optional ultimate practice to go. Still, seeing him have fun (in spite of himself) and do well following the map was worth him being annoying. And Jeff is hilarious. Before meet he told me he'd go but wasn't running. As soon as we started, he started running. So competitive.

Strength 1:00:00 [3]

Didn’t feel strong today. I’m sure it didn’t help that I ate dinner at 4:30. (I think I’ve unlocked senior citizen status). Dropped back a few pounds on hamstring curls, reduced reps on a couple things, but did increase weight on chest press.

Volleyball (League) 40:00 [2]

Lost 3/3 but they were all close and we played pretty well. No complaints.

Biking (Gravel) 8:09:07 [4] 102.3 mi (12.5 mph) +4921ft
shoes: 2019 Salsa Fargo

My last (only?) long ride before Spotted Horse on Oct. 5. Felt pretty strong and fast in the beginning (and that's rare for me, even in the beginning) and worked on attacking the hills and riding more like a singlespeeder. Legs had considerably less zip in the second half and I wasn't particularly having fun but could have ridden further if I had to. I handled the heat far better than in the past, too.

If I wasn't riding SS at Spotted Horse I'd be pretty optimistic for another finish. Since I am, I'll just say we'll see what happens.
