Saturday Apr 5

Bike (MTB) 2:10:00 [2]
After 200 metres, left pedal fell apart, with the guts destroyed. Two hours getting parts and rebuilding pedal before trying again, this time in cold rain. Got a terrible headache from the cold. But satisfied at least I didn't have to take my bike to a mechanic.

Friday Apr 4

Note
Never never never put your money in Sampo bank. You will spend your days in long lines trying to get your money back instead of training.
Run 1:15:00 [1]
pm: Tuomiojärvi. Managed to find some time after all.

Thursday Apr 3

Orienteer (kuntorasti) 40:00 [4]
Easy orienteering (1/2 street). 5 min. behind fastest and this mostly not do to running speed but bonehead mistakes in the beginning. Started out with total lack of concentration but got into it at the end.
Run warm up/down 25:00 [1]

Wednesday Apr 2

Run (road & trail mix) 45:00 [1]
Lunch break. No time to ski in shorts so I jogged in shorts. I couldn't stop smiling.

Tuesday Apr 1

Run intervals (road) 16:00 [5]
am: 8x2' (cut short)
Run 34:00 [2]
The rest of the run around Jyväsjärvi
Run (road) 28:00 [1]
pm jog in +8C! Everyone in the city seemed to being doing it so I felt compelled to join in and do my part to clear the sidewalks. Even ran past the hardest of hard-core ski guys jogging which is surely a sign of the times, although I think he was running to check the tracks.

Sunday Mar 30

Run (mostly trails) 51:00 [3]
early am. With map. Ice and snow below, rain above, me in between.
Ski (Classic) 1:13:00 [2]
Grabbed skis that I knew had plenty of glister on them from a few coats added in January. But on snow I noticed there was no grip. It seems the glister was gone!? Evaporated? Eaten by hungry microbes? Eaten by hungry skis? I can't figure it out since the usual problem is not being able to get rid of the stuff. Went home added some more and accidentally caused a minor environmental disaster by applying a too hot iron to some Rode universal glister which is a lethal as Italian cheese. Luckily family was out so I did not have to evacuate. All this for a crappy ski in light rain.
