Hill running race 1:15:00 [3] 9.0 mi (8:20 / mi)

Home internationals. Absolutely shite race!!! So pissed off at how bad it went. Legs felt dead the minute i hit the hill and even an easy jog was hard to keep up, then my legs felt better but had an awful stitch! Running the course the day before probably wasnt the beat idea plus eating a ton of food the night before i think lead to the massive stitch. Has made me realise what to not do before a race. Surprisingly i did feel really good before the race though.

Ran part of the course for tomorrows race with Robbie Simpson. Felt good, but was a bad idea as the next day my quads were tight.

Relief that the calf is okay so i managed a grass session! I actually really enjoyed the session even though i was just doing loops of a small park for mile after mile. Fairly brisk warm up followed by a progressive run of about 5miles. Usually i run really slow on xc terrain but was actually moving fast here, surprising! Didn't push too hard because the calf and also im racing at weekend.

Easy cycling on the stationary bike before heading straight into the pool.

swimming 20:00 [2]

Easy 20min in the pool. Felt good! Sauna afterwards

Road running 45:00 [2] 6.0 mi (7:30 / mi)

Tried a run today and it went okay. Its hard to find just grass to run on so had to use the road for most of it. Round past DL then some laps of Barshaw park. Slight pain in the calf towards the end but i was expecting that since a lot of work was done on it at the massage last night.

Easy 40mins in the pool. First time I've been swimming in a while and surprisingly i felt really good, had to hold back! Sauna afterwards

Cycled to and from the gym. Fairly hard 35min effort on the way there to get a good warm up. Slow on way back as was after massage.

In the gym. 10min tempo/hard effort on the cycling machine. A few one legs step-ups on a big box, left knee can't cope with these so stopped them. Long effort on the leg press @ 50kg then upped to 60kg for another effort. Some time on leg extensions followed by more leg press at 50kg. Only using light weights but many reps! 15min tempo/ hard effort on the cycling machine. Good quad and glute workout!! stretches then massage by Scott!

Not a very great run, just wasn't motivated at all! Planned on just doing various loops around Bellahouston park on the grass but got bored quickly so went on the road for a while. Ended up only being an hours long.

Some cycling after the run as the run was pathetically short!
