Orienteering race 37:00 [5] 4.0 km (9:15 / km)

Lost time on no.1, got confused about the crags, my height on the slope and general direction out of start. Ok after that, saw someone in a white o top navigating v well and running across rocky terrain better than me for a few controls and then lost them again by coming out of no.7 in a weird direction. Corrected myself and bananaed into no.8 (said I was fastest on this leg, which was strange as I though it was a kind of mistake) navigated well after this and happy with result.

Orienteering race 57:00 [5] 6.0 mi (9:30 / mi)

Ran quite well, hesitated a few times and felt slow for some of it but generally quite happy. Was hot. Just beat Becky, although I think she had the edge in terms of speed in me looking at splits, she just made a few little mistakes.

Running - Trail 30:00 [3] 3.0 mi (10:00 / mi)

Loughrigg, lovely 360 views. No o for me today, but good day with Evie & David in Lakes.

Orienteering race 52:00 [5] 8.0 km (6:30 / km)

Much sunnier. No.1 was probably the hardest control, no real attack point for it. Got there ok and carried on ok for rest of day. It was a race of 2 halves, I basically felt really heavy legged and slow on any uphill and then felt really good on any downhills. Must’ve been the same for most people. Ended up 3rd but clearly quite a way off the pace of the leading 2.

Orienteering race 57:00 [5] 5.0 mi (11:24 / mi)

Torrential rain all day. Bit of a survival race, just about kept going but it was very exposed up at the top. Very windswept by end but no major mistakes seemed to be enough to get me 2nd place. Pleasantly surprised as was just an ok run really. I don’t think I’ve ever really beaten Sarah so that was a first for me, although I’m sure it definitely wasn’t her best day.
