I must be fit at the moment. In nearly 20 years of running this route I've only once broken 44 minutes and never broken 43 before. Running it after no-one showed up at cricket practice. Got a boost at the start because someone was walking a dog up the start of the steep climb so I had to keep going at a reasonable rate. Only really went for it at the top of the last climb out of the valley when I realised I could run it quite fast, so relatively hard back from there (although obviously had gravity on my side for most of it). Basically just one of those days when I felt really good and everything clicked. Hardly felt tired at all at the end.
