Orienteering race 30:12 [4] 6.0 km (5:02 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

RK Middle Distance - Scotts Ferry - 4.9Km

Spiked every control and went at a reasonable pace, even if not racing too hard. Trying to run smoothly on the soft ground and largely successful, though tiring a bit in the second half. Happy with the time until Nick H. went round in 23:42!

Orienteering 20:22 [3] 3.0 km (6:47 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Another loop of the forest, mostly doing bits of the course in reverse.

Running 44:51 [3] 6.22 km (7:13 / km) +221m 6:07 / km
ahr:130 max:152 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Loop around KGMP from the car park by the bridge. Lots of new tracks.
Conditions awful. Was wading through water in places and had to be careful a lot of the time as very slippery. Felt pretty good - no problem with the hip, though left calf not perfect.

Baptism of fire (or, more accurately water) for new shoes which are going to replace the Vasques for rogaine-type stuff. Seemed pretty good - reasonable amount of grip and felt sturdy enough.

Supposed to be playing cricket today!!

Note

Was going to do a short run after getting home, but left hip quite sore from sleeping in a rather odd position on the plane.

Wednesday Nov 9, 2016 #

Running 56:32 [3] 12.0 km (4:43 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

Office - HB - Crimicar Lane - across golf course - crags - Ranmoor

Final run in Sheffield for a while. Snow on the higher parts, and was sliding around a lot. Decent tempo, though left calf was a bit grumbly.

Looks like the British may have lost their lead in the stupidest country in the world contest. Depressing.

Monday Nov 7, 2016 #

Running 1:11:06 [3] 15.0 km (4:44 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

Office - EW - LV - Clough.

Eccy Woods were looking so spectacular I ended up going round the Bird Sanctuary rather than taking the short route. Also took the route back via the Pitch and Putt, so longer than usual.

Good pace all the way, largely because it was so cold that I started fast. Feeling good.
