Orienteering 27:56 [3] 4.0 km (6:59 / km)
ahr:139 max:156 shoes: Brooks Cascadia

WOC club event - Brooklyn. A mix of rough steep bush and sprint terrain (but hilly) - 2.6Km 130m

Mistake-free run though lost some time 5-6 through not going up to the track immediately (couldn't see an obvious route through).

Legs felt tired, so didn't push too hard.

Running 1:37:33 [3] 16.37 km (5:58 / km) +684m 4:56 / km
ahr:139 max:155 shoes: Nike Pegasus 31

Dropped off at the bottom of Summit Rd and ran home along the usual route (Avian at the end).

Felt like hard work, but think that's probably because it is rather than because I was more tired than usual. Good views of the inside of a cloud.

NB No cricket due to the amount of rain this week.

Cycling 57:58 [3] 25.31 km (2:17 / km)

The Whitemans Valley Loop CW.

Bit of a Southerly breeze so hard work at times going up the valley. Got into a pretty good rhythm after taking a while to get into it after the long gap from cycling.

Orienteering 23:26 [3] 4.0 km (5:52 / km)
ahr:141 max:156 shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212

OHV Sprintish event - Jubilee Park

Yet more rain, and pretty dark on the bush tracks so needed the glasses to read the map but was struggling to see where I was going with all the rain and condensation on them. So had to take it fairly slowly at times.

Very basic navigation, so no real mistakes, though not sure about all the route choices.

Running 45:25 [3] 8.05 km (5:39 / km) +297m 4:46 / km
ahr:135 max:154 shoes: Nike Pegasus 29

The extended Avian-Avro loop

Yesterday the earthquakes, today the deluge, so this evening's rogaine called off due to road closures.

Obviously very wet underfoot and quite slow at times getting around or through water and avoiding vegetation. Not feeling great for the first few minutes but going well, if carefully at times, after that.

Garmin measured the first Km nearly 100m shorter than normal, but the final distance was hardly any different!

Note

By far the biggest earthquake since we've been here just after midnight. Plenty of stuff falling over, but not much proper damage, though there's an orienteering trophy or two which won't quite look the same again.
