Running 53:28 [3] 7.47 km (7:09 / km) +314m 5:55 / km
ahr:125 max:148 shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212

From the river car park over to KGMP, up the Southern track down the 4WD track, down the valley (including running to a dead end on the RHS of the stream) and back.

Nice sheltered run given that the weather was awful - rain and gales. Fairly gentle tempo, and right foot a bit sore. Kilometre 2 took 12:33, kilometre 3 took 4:39!

Running 2:12:07 [3] 19.83 km (6:40 / km)
ahr:127 max:148 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

Loop around Tunnel Gully (including the loop of Tane's Track), then up Mt Climie and back (with an extra bit of hill added at the end).

Felt pretty good. Very conservative early on as it was quite warm and humid. Felt better on the climb than expected and still had something left in the legs at the end.

Cycling 58:17 [3] 25.31 km (2:18 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop CW

Intended to be a gentle day and started off at a lower intensity than normal. Felt good doing so, but hadn't realised that that was because of the wind - second half was hard work all the way (which is unusual).

Running 1:07:38 [3] 10.78 km (6:16 / km) +518m 5:04 / km
ahr:134 max:155 shoes: Nike Pegasus 31

Another run home, this time from Stokers Valley swimming pool via Kamahi St Track and Avian

Again a bit of a struggle to start with, and had forgotten just how tough the climb is and how long it goes on for. Improved a bit and trying to put effort in to keep going fairly hard at the top of each slope.

Running 56:09 [3] 9.56 km (5:52 / km) +421m 4:49 / km
ahr:137 max:157 shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

From the riverbank car park up the track from the tip road - Avian.

Feeling generally tired before starting. The first few minutes were hard work, but warmed up into it and was able to push a bit over the second half.

Cycling 1:25:00 [2]

With Oli at Wainui MTB park. Basically two loops up the hill and back down. Too much technical and not enough physical, though was much better second time round. Couldn't use the small ring at the front which added to the entertainment on some of the steep uphill hairpins.

Running 1:58:32 [3] 18.0 km (6:35 / km) +713m 5:30 / km
ahr:130 max:150 shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212

The ridge track from Te Marua to Pakuratahi Forks, round the loop and back again (including a couple of dead ends).

Lovely run. A great track and perfect weather (a bit warm for running). Yet only saw one couple the whole way along the ridge track. Is this really a country that loves the outdoors?

Ran fairly conservaitevly to start with due to the heat and length, but felt pretty good. Was able to speed up a bit once back on top of the ridge coming back.

NB Garmin said 15.77Km. No way that's right - said 1.1Km after 11 minutes. It might be mostly uphill but it's not that steep!
