12 PM

Orienteering race 39:20 [4] 4.26 km (9:14 / km)
ahr:143 max:155 (injured) shoes: VJ Falcon

WOC Event - "Skyglow" - 3.3Km 205m

Actually the Winter Classic, but decided not to risk the physicality of the long course.

More enjoyable than last time we were here, partly because I knew to avoid the native bush wherever possible.

Felt fine physically, though didn't push too hard. Lost abour 30s at 9 (should have read the control description. Then 1-30 at 14 - control was too high and I didn't see it and went down instead of up.

Note

Golf at Shandon. Miserable day. Got away with some rubbish. 92 (37 points).

Friday Sep 1 #

Running 37:27 [3] 5.6 km (6:41 / km) +284m 5:20 / km
ahr:132 max:155 (injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 31

In Havelock North again. A proper lap of Te Mata Peak this time. Again hard work, but this time because it's steep! Also very slippery at times, particularly treacherous downhill.

NB Garmin said 5.11Km, but the walk is officially 5.4Km and I added at least an extra 200m. Somewhat confirms my suspicions.

Thursday Aug 31 #

Orienteering 21:05 [4] 4.0 km (5:16 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

Sprint training from Frank Kitts park. Just running an old course but still decent training. Made a lot more difficult by persistent rain and fading light. Ran with a head torch but struggled when I had to take the glasses off.

Very slippery, so a combination of fast and slow. Good to get a decent workout. Right hamstring a bit sore afterwards, but main injuries OK.

Wednesday Aug 30 #

Cycling 1:01:27 [3] 25.31 km (2:26 / km)
(injured)

The Whitemans Valley loop ACW.

Bit of a struggle. Really hard work up the hill.

Tuesday Aug 29 #

Running 1:04:30 [3] 10.87 km (5:56 / km) +423m 4:58 / km
ahr:135 max:155 (injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 31

Riverbank car park - Horoeka track (longer route) - Avro

Still a bit stiff and sore. SI area tender. Not going at any great pace.
