Note

Golf at RW. Very tricky random gusty conditions. Played first half with Dips and a mate and second half on my own. 104 (59 / 45!) for 28 points.

Cricket 1:45:00 [1]
(injured)

1-dayer v Collegians Falconhawke.

Wasn't expecting to bowl, but did and ended up with 8-0-21-3. Given that they scored about 240-6 off their 45 overs, and I bowled the 43rd and 45th overs, a pretty surprising result. On an artificial, so the extra pace and bounce certainly helped.

Batted reasonably - 25 runs - but we were well beaten.

Running 49:28 [3] 8.0 km (6:11 / km)
(injured) shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212

From the riverbank car park into KGMP. Usual tracks (out along lower route up the stream, back along higher main route), but also explored up the track above the bridge as far as the waterfall (nice track but too many stream crossings when trying not to get wet feet).

Feeling generally stiff and sore. Not pushing too hard.

Orienteering 23:36 [4] 5.0 km (4:43 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

Training at Avalon Park. 2 short distance intense sprints, with a more standard sprint in the middle.

Good fun. In control apart from losing 20 seconds forgetting to punch at the end of the first course.

Generally a bit stiff and sore beforehand from yesterday, but only a fairly minor effect while running.

Cricket 1:20:00 [1]
(injured)

First net session of the season and first cricket for a long time. Bowling fairly rusty. Got back into batting a bit more easily. A few twinges from random bits of the body, but nothing from the most likely suspects.

Running 44:46 [3] 8.0 km (5:36 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

The Dry Creek Loop ACW

Heel sore beforehand and for the first few minutes, but didn't feel it later.
Good conditions - so much drier than during winter. Took advantage by keeping up a decent tempo and then speeding up down the hill to try to break 45 mins.

Running 44:56 [3] 8.04 km (5:35 / km)
(injured) shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

The extended Avro-Avian loop

Heel a bit sore again. Not feeling too bad otherwise. A lot drier now than it was when we left NZ five weeks ago, and a lot warmer too - really feels like Spring now.
