Orienteering race 35:27 [4] 4.78 km (7:25 / km) +187m 6:12 / km
ahr:141 max:156 shoes: Inov8 X-talon 212

WOC CSW warm-up. Orange long - 3.3Km

Very physical, and impossible to run straight lines. Missed 2 by 1.5 mins, mainly through carelessness (and some bad luck). Thereafter running harder than I'd intended. Also missed 10 by about 20 sec. Hamstring and calf seem to have recovered.

Going to have to keep myself fit to stay ahead of Kieran ...

Cricket 1:10:00 [1]

2-dayer v Petone Fateh

Another pretty good day for the team, but slightly frustrating for me. Circumstances dictated that I batted at 8, and only faced 7 balls for 11 not out.

Friday Feb 16 #

Cycling 56:58 [3] 25.31 km (2:15 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop CW.

Surprised to be so quick given the recent lack of biking, but felt OK and think that a little bit of servicing has made the bike a bit quicker.

Running 24:51 [3] 3.77 km (6:35 / km) +145m 5:32 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

Kingsley Heights - Maidstone Park loop

Taking it easy to start with but feeling good so went a bit quicker than intended. Calf sore beforehand, but OK while running, whereas hamstring felt tight while running, particularly downhill.

Orienteering race 15:26 [4] 3.16 km (4:53 / km)
ahr:151 max:163 (injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

WOC Sprint - Whitirea Campus.

A lot of fun as usual but a bit of fairly dead running in the middle

Calf worryingly sore beforehand and hamstring also tight as soon as I started warming up, not too bad while running but was probably holding back a bit.

Good technically, but missed one route choice (5-6) and lost time when I thought the map flip was at 10 rather than 12.

Running 6:00 [2] 1.0 km (6:00 / km)

Warm down.

Monday Feb 12 #

Running 50:21 [3] 8.17 km (6:10 / km) +286m 5:15 / km
ahr:130 max:153 (injured) shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

Tunnel Gully. Usual sort of route but missed out the down and up at the end.

Feeling very stiff and sore right from the start, and hadn't really been expecting it to be that bad. After about 15 minutes, it resolved itself into hamstring and SI pain for the first time in several months, so eased off a bit. NB Hip is still sore every night, but not really affecting my running at the moment.
