Sunday Mar 3 #

Orienteering race 46:08 [2] 5.8 km (7:57 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

WOC OY - Osgiliath
Went for red long not knowing that the course was far rougher and more physical than usual. Would really have enjoyed it if I'd be in a fit state, but cold definitely developing and felt pretty rotten. Didn't put in any level of effort, but was feeling poor and getting worse so stopped at 16. Surprisingly only 8 mins down at that point despite losing a silly 2 mins at 10 where I didn't spot the earlier ridge on the map and then ended up too far East, and then losing about 2 mins completely stuck in vegetation getting out of 10.

Saturday Mar 2 #

A bit listless in the morning at Oli's cricket and not feeling great by mid-afternoon so didn't run (opposition had pulled out of our match today). Clear I was coming down with a cold by the evening.

Running 49:31 [5] 8.08 km (6:08 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

A reintroduction to the world of pain that is hill reps.
The usual first session : 2 x 4 on the standard hill. Hurt a lot on both the lungs and the legs.

Thursday Feb 28 #

Cricket 1:45:00 [1]

Nets at Fraser.

Wednesday Feb 27 #

Orienteering race 25:49 [4] 5.18 km (4:59 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33 Blue

"Sprint" - Thorndon.
Rather on the long side. Advertised as 3.7Km, but that was straight line and there were some very non-straight lines. Great fun though - one of those where you had to be up with the mapreading the whole time. Which I wasn't completely - a bit rusty on tricky sprints. Lost about 15s at 2 thanks to not spotting that there wasn't a way through. Several minor time losses through indecision and the occasional suspect route. Then about 20s lost on 24-25 through not spotting how to get through the school and taking a long route round. Everyone had a few problems though ...

Tuesday Feb 26 #

Cycling 58:20 [3] 25.31 km (2:18 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop CW
Going reasonably despite a reasonable NW breeze.
