Sunday Jul 28 #

Orienteering race 59:41 [4] 9.0 km (6:38 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Score event - Tinakori Hill.
Good fun - tricky to work out the best route given that it was too hard to get all of them. Fairly happy with what I did - just 4 low pointers missed which was enough to win. Hard work towards the end though. Thought I could probably just get back from the bottom of the hill to the top if I had ten minutes left and had to push hard to do it in 9:40.
Map rather out of date now - various new tracks, while old tracks have disappeared. Mostly coped OK with the randomness but lost a small amount of time in a couple of places as a result.

Would rather be in Scotland though.

Saturday Jul 27 #

Running 2:01:31 [3] 20.0 km (6:05 / km)
shoes: Nike Pegasus 30

From Wainui (school where Oli was playing football) up the ridge to the North, extra bit to go up the stepp climb right to the top, down the main ridge, then down to Lowry Bay, York Bay, up Kaitawa Rd track, back via Puriri track. Good route a bit different to previous ones. Felt good, and managed to run the whole way up Kaitawa Track which was pretty tough in places.

Friday Jul 26 #

Cycling 1:00:04 [3] 25.31 km (2:22 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop CW
Legs a bit tired, but kept going pretty well. Bike really needs servicing!

Thursday Jul 25 #

Running 55:25 [3] 11.5 km (4:49 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

Harriers - reverse Lockwood but along the ridge rather than up the valley. Suited my strengths, particularly being with headlamps! Felt good and ran several sections reasonably hard.

Wednesday Jul 24 #

Running 59:55 [5] 11.0 km (5:27 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Hills. This time used the first part of the gravel track down the main ridge from the top of Avro for longer ones (2:00 - 2:10), plus part of the "other side" hill for shorter (45s) ones. Did 3-5-3. Hard work - lots of oxygen debt.

Monday Jul 22 #

Running 1:07:48 [3] 12.0 km (5:39 / km)
shoes: Nike Air Pegasus 30 Blue

Avro - the loop on Guildford Spur - back via the small ridge track - Avro - Avian

Legs tired, but tried to keep a reasonable tempo. Succeeded mostly. SI not moving freely.
