Sunday Jan 19 #

11 AM

Orienteering 37:47 [2] 4.0 km (9:27 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Wellington training weekend. In the more interesting forest at Glenlean today. Started by putting out some of the controls for the middle distance course.
12 PM

Orienteering 23:36 [3] 3.0 km (7:52 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

The verbalisation exercise, but Carsten and I just did it as separate courses but with me starting a minute or so behind to apply some pressure. Pretty good round this one - hardly any time lost, but heels hurting again. An SVT incident soon after stopping, which lasted probably just over 5 minutes without any ill effects.

Orienteering 20:00 [3] 3.0 km (6:40 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

The scond half. 1.9Km. No problems apart from 2 which Malcolm hadn't put out. Had exactly the same problem when the Wellington Champs were there - the map just isn't quite right. Time is a guess - was 23.??, but forgot to stop th watch while helping some of the others at 2.
Heels too sore afterwards to do the later (very short) exercise.

Orienteering 50:29 [3] 7.0 km (7:13 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

Wellington Training Weekend - Route choice - Glenlean - 6Km?
3 separate sections. Started with Carsten each time.Mainly about route choice - the navigation was straightforward. Feeling pretty good.
3 PM

Orienteering 27:20 [3] 3.5 km (7:49 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

A standard course but with some clambery stuff getting across gullys. Again feeling OK, though heels starting to get a bit sore towards the end.

Thursday Jan 16 #

Running 1:02:00 [3] 12.0 km (5:10 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Harriers - along the river then up towards the tip, up the lower part of Guildford Spur then down to the water tanks (I took the alternative route). Then back via Silverstream and the riverbank.
Groin felt sore for the first few minutes, but was OK later on. Felt pretty reasonable. Long stops tonight.
Time / distance are guesstimates thanks to Garmin issues.

Wednesday Jan 15 #

Cycling 58:06 [3] 25.31 km (2:18 / km)

The Whitemans Valley Loop CW
Reasonable ride, but finally did it with the Garmin so it went onto Strava. No chance of getting anywhere near the top of those segments!

Tuesday Jan 14 #

Cricket 2:00:00 [1]

Nets at Fraser, mostly indoors.

Monday Jan 13 #

Running 1:06:34 [3] 11.52 km (5:47 / km) +373m 4:58 / km
shoes: Nike Pegasus 33

From Tapestry - Silverstream Retreat - Guildford Spur - Avro.

Groin sore all the way again, but not too much trouble to run through it. Again feeling pretty good one I got into it properly.
