Orienteering race 1:00:08 [3] 6.0 km (10:01 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

WOC Club event - Tinakori Hill - 3.2Km 390m (assuming contour interval 5m rather than the 2.5m the map said!)
Today's lesson - don't go cross country at Tinakori! Came to grief spectacularly a couple of times. Leaving 3. headed north and got forced to go lowe than I wanted by impassable fallen trees, but then the path I was intending to follow didn't really exist so had to fight my way up through lots of nasty stuff. Lost about 4 mins. Then 5-6 went straight up trying to find the easier strip (which I knew existed from the previous event). But the better stuff petered out and I ended up completely stuck in gorse, even though probably almost at the path. Eventually reversed, traversed, and found a better line, but probably lost about 6 mins (it would have been the best route otherwise). After that, stuck to the paths! Also lost a bit of time at 2 which was on the wrong rootstock, and a bit 12-13. Coped OK physically, despite the heat, as I didn't really push too hard.

Saturday Feb 27 #

Gof at RW. Club Champs qualifying so off the blue tees. Very very average - nothing working properly. 106 (27 points) with no pars but nothing worse than a couple of triple bogeys.

Cycling 1:13:45 [3]

The longer Whitemans Valley loop ACW
Generally good, but struggling a bit on the climb at the end. May well have been due to the heat / humidity - got through a huge amount of water during the afternoon!

Running 48:38 [3] 9.5 km (5:07 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Harriers. River - St Pats - Witako via Chichester - Water tanks.
Feeling pretty good despite the humidity. Variable speed as usual.

Orienteering race 22:39 [4] 3.0 km (7:33 / km)
shoes: VJ Falcon

CSW "Sprint" 2 - Jubilee Park
Fairly easy but physical, and awkward running along the tracks with all the steps. A couple of silly map related mistakes : went wrong out of 5,just losing track of where I was on the map for a bit. Then set off from 7 to 14.No real idea why except that there wasn't a line from 7-8 and I think I just picked something that looked vaguely line-like. Difficult reading the map in the dark bush.
Felt reasonable physically but didn't manage to run all the hills.

Cricket 1:30:00 [3]

Outdoor nets at Fraser.
No real problems either batting or bowling now, but fielding is still likely to be a problem.
