Orienteering race 54:35 [4] 7.0 km (7:48 / km)
shoes: Innov X-talon Yellow

CSW - QEP - Red long - 5.9Km
No animals in the park now, so the grass has grown up everywhere. Once I'd got used to the idea, actually enjoyed the physical challenge more than usual, particularly as the electric fences were all off. Still a very high number of fence crossings though, and there was some randomness with which fences were on the map and which weren't.

Unfortunately, 1st control in the wrong place, and it took me a while to get a bit motivated after that., and was never really treating it as a race. After that, all OK apart from 14 where I misread a knoll as a depression in the circle and lost about 1:15 (not helped by issues with rain and glasses).

Note

Golf at RW with random group.
A mixed bag - 105, 33 points and won 4&3 thanks to one of us doing OK on most holes. A combined 32 shots on 2, 4 & 10, including 12 shots on 10 which we played first, half of them from the same bunker. Some good stuff elsewhere.

Cycling 1:15:11 [3]

The longer Whitemans Valley loop ACW
Finding it hard work for the first half hour, but hadn't realised how much of a headwind there was. Second half nice and fast and felt good on the climb.

Thursday May 27 #

Running 57:18 [3] 12.6 km (4:33 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

To the top of Kingsley Heights & back. Fairly gentle on the way there (via Lane St). Not much fun on the way back. No stops and Huw decided to go at 3-50 pace all the way back along Fergusson Drive. Gradually fell back but almost caught up by cutting across the park at the end.
Hard work and tough mentally!

Wednesday May 26 #

Cycling 59:53 [3] 25.31 km (2:22 / km)

The Whitemans Valley loop CW
Lacklustre. Bike feels a bit slower since the gears were worked on at the weekend. There was also a diversion in Silverstream.

Tuesday May 25 #

Running 1:12:49 [3] 12.5 km (5:50 / km)
shoes: Air Pegasus 30 Darker blue

Avro - dead end above Pinehaven - the small ridge track - Avro - Avian (as work going on at the top).
Feeling pretty good. Rather nervous about the loggers - had thought they wouldn't be there today but they were.
