Boston "in my backyard" - backyard loosely defined here as to within 12 miles from home. I tried to match the pattern of Boston's elevation profile, but ended up with about 35% more uphills. Most hills were steeper especially the two heart/leg-breaks at miles 16.7 and 20. Also an additional hill at mile 24. I stopped for a minute to refuel at the car at mile 19 which helped me for the mile 20 one mile long 65m continuous climb. About 6 miles were on well-packed dirt roads.
I was holding up reasonably well, but had not much umph on the hills after mile 15, but running the flats and downs was still reasonably on target. No cramps, yeah! - and I did not totally feel wiped out at the end. A good sign!
Fuel: 2 salt tablets (mile 0 and 19) , 1 9-oz flask Perpetuum for miles 10 - 18. 1 9-oz water for miles 5 - 18. 1 16oz bottle perpetuum for miles 19 - 26. I did not eat a protein bar, that I carried. (Had a substantial breakfast of oats, pancakes and a little bit of sausage).

I should probably do another one or two of these before Boston, hopefully with some company.
