New England Half.
All very Covid compliant, and even the governor showed up in person to give us his blessing. Very well organized.
The course has about 150m elevation loss, 100m of it in the first 2 miles. But also has some good hills along the way.

Racers were spaced 10 seconds apart. I started behind Garrett C from Madbury. I am not as used to fast starts as I used to be, so he seemed to be going strong slightly beyond my comfort zone. But I just hung on and at mile 5 even passed him - he seemed to fade. But then when I struggled at the hospital hill (mile 9), he motored past me. By then there was a group of 5 of which I was the last one. I did pass two runners, and eventually tailed Garrett again. Giving almost all at the last .5 mile incl. the "uphill" to the State House, and finished 6 seconds behind him, so I beat him.

Good to race again! If you don't, you lose it.
