Trail running 26:00 [2] 2.86 mi (9:05 / mi) +15m 8:57 / mi
shoes: New Balance MT 910 sz 9

mixed run to work. Trying the trails from Mill Rd to W Foss Farm, then last bit on Mill Rd to campus. Still lots of snow in the woods. Would be skateable where it not for large bare patches in between. No time to try it.
6 PM

Road Running 26:38 [4] 3.4 mi (7:50 / mi) +35m 7:35 / mi
shoes: New Balance MT 910 sz 9

"Interval" training on the way home via 155a. M1: 8:34 , M2: 6:26, then .4 M cool down, then 0.8 M at ~ 6:30-6:45 (hilly), then cool down. All I could do before dark and with an empty stomach.

Road Running 2:16:20 [3] 18.48 mi (7:23 / mi) +260m 7:04 / mi
shoes: On Cloud light gray

Winner's Circle "Run to the Beach" Group Training Run. From Andover VFW to Salisbury Winner's Circle Bar. All on two roads: Rt 125 and Rt 110. Water every 5 miles manned by the "veterans" of the club. Nice amenity and gesture. Perfect morning - sun and clouds around 33F.

I settled with Eric and John whose target pace was 7:45, but initially was around 8 / mile. After mile 5 I got itchy and my body wanted to move at my usual pace of around 7 in the flats +/- on the hills/descents. This was all very comfortable to about mile 15, when my feet bottoms started to hurt - too much pavement. But I continued trying to keep a relaxed form which meant keeping the brain from becoming sluggish. This took some effort, but legs and feet had no problems keeping up with the general pace. Also no more major hills after mile 15.

A fun event, with good socializing afterwards over pizza and beer. The "veterans" celebrated me as the winner. That made me smile.
