Stationary bike 25:00 [2] 7.0 mi (3:34 / mi)
(sick)

First time trying this on an old Schwinn clunker. Has a resistance dial, but the odometer/speedometer is broken. I could probably figure out a formula to calculate "distance", but it would be so approximate - I'll just guess equivalent mileage on MT bike. It was somewhat strenuous - continuous push and pull since I had it set on quite a bit of drag. Equivalent about 5 miles on MT but no relax time = ~ 7 miles.
Quite boring, blaring music helps, good sweating after about 7 minutes.
5 PM

Walking 30:00 [0] 1.0 mi (30:00 / mi)
shoes: On Cloudflow dark grey

Around the hole w Nancy. Nature-walking - looking at signs of critters by examining trees.

Trail running 53:18 [2] 5.01 mi (10:38 / mi) +79m 10:08 / mi

Easy trail run. I have a cold and it is good to do an easy run the day after a hard one (according to B training plan). See how I feel tonight.

Road Running 1:18:58 [3] 10.55 mi (7:29 / mi) +283m 6:55 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

M-training: Intervals on hill (Lee Hook Rd bridge to near Grange Hall). 3 times 1/2 mile up, 45seconds rest, then back down at HM pace, then 90 seconds rest. Then 4 times 1/4mile up, 1 min rest, then back down at 10k pace and 2 min rest. Hilly warmup over Wedn. Hills (3 miles) and hilly cool down returning (2.55 miles). Levels 3 - 5 on the up, 2 - 3 on the down.
Average paces: Warmup: 8 / mile First set: 6:58 Second set: 6:45 (progressively slowing down!) . Cool down: 7:55 . (Total time is without rest times)
That was a serious speed workout. Lower back was protesting afterwards. I am also battling a cold (nasal to chest) but the fact that I can do this training tells me I don't have COVID 19.

Road Running warm up/down 16:10 [1] 1.97 mi (8:12 / mi) +1m 8:11 / mi
shoes: Altra, Escalante

Road Running race 1:28:26 [3] 13.16 mi (6:43 / mi) +30m 6:40 / mi
shoes: Altra, Escalante

Hampton Half. A flat race with a gentle hill at mile 6. Around my usual half M time. I started out conservatively trying to hit an even pace. There was some headwind coming from the W. which hit us mostly on the hill mile and intermittently on the 3 miles coming back along the coast to the finish. From m 6 to the end there was a couple in front of me who were seriously and exactly paceing at around 6:35, which was just a tad beyond my comfort zone, so it was good to follow. Only on the last mile did they peel off as I was fading and we had another bout of headwind.

Not a bad result. Although 2 minutes slower than last year I did not nearly suffer as much this time. There was no wind last year, and I probably ran a minute faster in the first 3 miles, but then had to fight through fatigue for the rest, which did not feel good.
35th out of about 800. 13 minutes behind the winner. First in M60+ by 1.5 minutes. Last year's time would have put me in 29th.

Road Running warm up/down 19:55 [2] 2.01 mi (9:54 / mi)
shoes: Altra, Escalante

Taking the cool-down seriously...
