Orienteering 1:46:00 [2] 7.61 mi (13:56 / mi) +271m 12:33 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

Escape to Evan's Mt in Strafford/S.Barnstead area. I used a USGSmap on which I had penciled in a bunch of trails. I was hoping to find new trail connectors but there were none to speak of. So I just starting orienteering off-trails following streams, ponds, hill tops to reach Province Rd. Then a 4wd road, and an old logging road that peetered out at a swamp, which I had to cross. Then bee-lined it to Evans Mt in mostly lovely woods that had been "select cut" some time ago. Afterwards gorgeous 360 views as I jogged down on the hill tops going NW with the sun getting close to setting. A nice diversion indeed.

Trail running 1:51:43 [3] 10.93 mi (10:13 / mi) +138m 9:50 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

After a day of hoopla and excitement about COVID 19 I just wanted to go for a long run. Trail seemed more relaxing. Waited for the rain to end, then the sun came out and temps shot up to over 60F. Welcome spring!

To CW then to E Foss Farm, trying to find an old defunct trail connector over to Bennett Rd near the railroad, this ended up going through a 200m marshy area - had to walk and got wet feet.
Then via Thompson House to Stonehenge and back, and J's loop trails back to the hole and home, just in time to pick up the CSA groceries.

Skate Skiing 2:10:51 [3] 14.45 mi (9:03 / mi) +571m 8:04 / mi
shoes: Rossi Xium Skate

Prospect Farm, Jackson. I skied all trails, several required an out and back. Warm (35 - 41), sugary snow transforming to slight mash, but overall very good. Skis had leftover wax optimal for 25 F ,could have been faster. Going up the Wildcat Valley trail was a lot of work!, but I took it slowly and rested twice chatting to fellow skiers (at an appropriate distance). Ken Kl joined me in the upper parts and out Quail to USB. I was getting wicked hungry but forwent snacking until I finished.

The Nordic Centers at Mt Washington Valley are grooming their trails (lodges closed except for WC). I think I'll go skate skiing at Prospect Farm (Jackson) tomorrow morning.

Stationary bike 30:00 [1] 5.0 mi (6:00 / mi)

Easier level today. I read a scientific (statistical) manuscript on the laptop while pedaling. That worked out quite good. Why didn't I discover this method of "working" years ago?

Road Running 1:02:23 [3] 8.44 mi (7:23 / mi) +125m 7:04 / mi
(sick) shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Still having bronchial irritation, but running with a scarf around my mouth/nose seems to be working fine as long as I did not breath very deeply during the first 2 miles. On the Lee Hook loop via Lee to Wiswall. Cold (28F) sun going down, so I just motored along, and ended up going faster than I planned. Legs felt fine. 1 mile warm up (8 /mile), then miles 2-3 pushing harder over the Wed. hills (7:25/mile) , then mile 4 - 8 over the top and back (7:09 / mile), then a short cool down. Glad I toughed it out for the entire loop.

Stationary bike 27:00 [2] 8.0 mi (3:22 / mi)
(sick)

Another round. Much easier today. Adjusted the drag to determine a matching rhythm to songs play at Breakfast with the Beatles. That made the time go fast.
6 PM

Trail running 51:30 [3] 5.48 mi (9:24 / mi) +55m 9:07 / mi
shoes: Topo (black)

The to-Campus "loop". To shelter to Mill Rd/Railroad br, along O River South and home via the Hole. Legs were peppy (from stat biking?) so put on some tempo but kept from hard breething to avoid coughing. Worked fine. Felt good.
