Friday Oct 9 #

3 PM

Trail running 33:35 [2] 3.6 mi (9:20 / mi) +50m 8:56 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

Recovery Run around the hole - squeezing it in between meetings and my scheduled Friday tour of chores.

12 PM

Road Running 1:34:33 [3] 13.12 mi (7:12 / mi) +161m 6:56 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Half Rehearsal. The great pine cone crunch outing! It has been a while since I did a serious long road run. This felt good. My GPS was going berzerk, showing instant paces of 9 min plus and switching wildly. The mile paces were correct though. This happened before on a windy dry day like today. Electricity in the air perhaps?

This felt good! Now I have to sign up for Sunday's Half in Concord. It is going to be pt 2 pt from from Gould Hill Farm to downtown. A downhill bonanza! .... Just did it! Glad I could still sign up just hours before the cut-off.

Many years ago there was an O event at Gould Hill on a crappy map.

5 PM

Trail running 54:35 [3] 6.01 mi (9:05 / mi) +103m 8:37 / mi
shoes: On Cloud grey-black

To CW and back - motoring the single tracks.

Had an overtime meeting and just couldn't make it to the Pub run. Instead a "quick out the door" before dark.

Monday Oct 5 #

5 PM

Trail running 37:03 [3] 3.53 mi (10:30 / mi) +157m 9:14 / mi
shoes: Topo (black)

Trails in the close neighborhood: 6 Hill sprints then tempo for the rest for a short training before dinner. I actually gained 15 seconds total on the 1 minute up and 1 minute down hill workout. I am accenting the use of glutes to save leg strength. Seems to work.

Sunday Oct 4 #

2 PM

Walking 1:06:09 [1] 2.02 mi (32:45 / mi) +64m 29:48 / mi
shoes: New Balance MT 910 sz 9

On the retired blueberry fields in Strafford. Walk w. Nancy. One of my favorite places to run.
5 PM

Trail running 1:18:55 [3] 8.78 mi (8:59 / mi) +90m 8:43 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

On the trails before dark. Again!

The days are getting shorter and I need to adjust my running schedule - or bring my headlamp.
