Saturday Jan 30 #

12 PM

Skate Skiing 1:00:32 [3] 7.02 mi (8:37 / mi)
shoes: Atomic Skate RS9

Skate Ski on the Lamprey Inlet
Great conditions, 1.5 inches of slow cold snow. Slo-mo V2 most of the way. Good for working on technique.
Sunny, cold, little wind, wonderful!
Rendez-vous with the ice fisher folks.. and others. The river is the place to be today!

Friday Jan 29 #

3 PM

Classic Skiing 1:06:41 [2] 5.01 mi (13:19 / mi) +52m 12:54 / mi
shoes: Atomic Waxless

Repeat of yesterday. I did dare to ski down to the field, cautiously progressing on the gravely down. Once in the middle of it, I could let go and did get a bit of a speed going. Somebody has been skate skiing around - Good gollly that must have been a scratch fest!

Thursday Jan 28 #

8 AM

Classic Skiing 1:04:38 [2] 5.09 mi (12:42 / mi) +48m 12:20 / mi
shoes: Atomic Waxless

Kick and Glide on one inch of snow.
Surprise: Good skiing on my "rock" skis. I had to tread lightly in the few places were I knew there were rocks underneath. Yet I was able to move quite nicely with a mix of double poling and striding. My tracks sort-of self-destructed after two or more repeats - each push-off created a 1 foot strip of vegetation and thus the snow got sparser. Happy to be able to do a 5 miler at a reasonable pace!

Wednesday Jan 27 #

1 PM

Trail running 56:27 [3] 6.01 mi (9:24 / mi) +72m 9:03 / mi
shoes: Topo MT3

Work Loop - but not going to work!
Still doing it all from home.
Nice dusting of snow, made for soft footing, yet not deep enough (< 1/2 inch) to be slippery. Looks like folks down in MA got more snow.

Tuesday Jan 26 #

shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Dover Pub Run. Testing my resiience to pavement - first time in about a month.
Small group tonight. First 1.5 miles warm-up with R and K who ended up doing the 3 miler. Then alone continuing on the 5 miler. Saw Remi in the distance but was not able to catch up - he is young and fast!.
7 PM

Trail running 23:17 [2] 2.42 mi (9:37 / mi) +21m 9:22 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Warm down on the Cocheco River Trail. Snow flakes quietly dancing from the sky. Hoping for some skiing.

Monday Jan 25 #

Trail running 1:31:49 [3] 10.01 mi (9:10 / mi) +93m 8:55 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

WF-Stonehenge and SH.

"Closing the circles" was today's theme. Uneventful otherwise, but another perfect day for running. No wind - no need to overdress.

Sunday Jan 24 #

1 PM

Walking warm up/down 49:19 [1] 1.27 mi (38:50 / mi) +23m 36:46 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Our daily outing (w. Nancy). Needed to stay in the woods as the winds were roaring. Hicks Hill looked suitable. No objections to mask ordinance in this weather !
2 PM

Trail running 48:04 [3] 5.0 mi (9:37 / mi) +67m 9:14 / mi
shoes: Altra gray (Torin 4)

Then for a round on my hometurf. Made it halfway to CW. Very hungry, also overdressed even after taking my windbreaker off. Time for a late lunch.
