Only 2 cars until I reached Lee at 2.5 miles.

W - E Foss - Thompson House Grand Tour

I was planning for a 10 miler, but then it got dark and I got hungry - this was good enough. Quiet out there, no soul, not even a hunter. Another gorgeous sunset now more visible as most leaves have come down over the last few days. (about 1.5 mile total on pavement - trail from power station N of Bennett Road to W Foss Farm trail was deep under water, so I had to backtrack to take the road to T House).

Brisk out - so I went into the woods.
Recovery Run - legs felt good , back a bit sore, but not bad.

Orienteering race 2:23:20 [3] *** 10.89 mi (13:10 / mi) +449m 11:40 / mi

49th Blue Hills Traverse Mass Start Event.
Nice race! Thanks Jeff and Judy for putting in on again. There were some really long legs (~ 20 minutes running time), which tested the runners route choice judgement. I spiked all controls but was hesitant on 4 of them, but with people around, there was no extra time. A few minutes lost due to sup-optimal route choice. I pretty much settled in with Bridget for the second half after we had crossed paths on and off before. Our paces and orienteering skills appeared to be comparable. It was nice to have company. We both ended up 5th out of ~ 35?. This was a lot of fun!
I have been missing out on the local O events as I was too busy to train for marathons. I thoroughly enjoyed this!
