Stratham Hill Trail Race # 3
Overall easier course with few single tracks, but one long hill in the middle which was taxing esp. during the second loop. Fewer runners on the 10k than before. I may have been 6th out of 8? I was seeded at about 10th place (together with the 5k runners) and never changed places for the entire race.
It was fun nevertheless as always. Weather was perfect! After-race social was even better!

Easy Trails and Roads 6 Miler
Low-impact pace. 20min chat with Sam in the middle. A brisk cold wind even made my fingers go numb. This was literally refreshing!

BG Shakeout and Then Some Miles:
Various aches and pains from Billigoating needed to be shaken off. Nice day to add some miles to make it a 10.

Billygoat Mass-Start Orienteering Race
From about 2 miles on (did not appropriately push the start button - Grr). Very tough first half: no trails, lots of mountain laurel to fight through - but packs of runners were forming and you could take some advantage of others' navigation. A very social O-event! Finished 17-18 with K. Hall out of about 70. K and I managed to forge ahead of several packs of a total of about 20 orienteers. I was quite comfortable in the second half as we mostly chose the on-trail routes.
A big kudo to NEOC and the Campbells for a superb organization - liked the chili and bagels at the finish, and also being able to have one's own drink/fuel stashed at the aid station. And the weather was ideal!
