Strength & Conditioning (Pilates) 1:00:00 [1]

Another great class, followed by catching up with an ex-colleague and hearing all the DFH gossip.

Belfast City Marathon Relay - last leg for a work charity team. I have no idea what the first 4 did, except that at the ~3 mile mark our first leg runner was happily keeping up with sjreeve. Alarming, not expecting that.
Greatly enjoyed my ~2 hour wait at changeover. Saw the elites go through. So impressive, totally silky-smooth running.
Once I started, I realised how psychologically wonderful it was to do last leg. Continuous overtaking, I barely looked at my garmin and instead enjoyed the run, high-fives n all :) Really quite congested in places where it narrowed, and on the Ormeau Road in particular I was often on the road outside the coned area just to get past people.
Highlight of the day = Oompa Loompa World Record Attempt. An Oompa came running across at the ~3 mile mark to say hello. And a Loompa gave us a cheery hello at the 25 mile mark, turns out we were talking to him at Larne parkrun. Love it.

Strength & Conditioning (Yoga) 1:15:00 [1]

Really, really, really excellent yoga class 'inspired by the marathon'. Thank you Denis. Loved it.

Note

Tonight, several people told me that Epson (Epsom?) salts are the bestest thing for muscle recovery. Never heard of this phenomenon. Shall investigate.

Larne parkrun, simply beautiful. The forecast rain was nowhere to be seen and we had a wonderful run, encouraged by the friendliest marshals around.
Ran with Davy and Veda. This course is not flat.

Hill Walking 1:00:00 [1] 3.0 km (20:00 / km) +671m 9:27 / km

Knockshee, via the H&D route for Sarah's benefit. Not much easier walking vs running.
Some gentle running on the ridge to Knockshee because, turns out, it's a damn long way. Totals more like 12.5k / 3.5 hours

H&D Slieve Martin. So very very steep. I was so slow, I missed the BARF photo! However I did at least make it the whole way round the course.
Heart felt good. Legs less so. Hence the mediocre heart rate but the garmin trace fails to capture the burning pain in my legs :)
Deliberately held back at the start, and by the time I got anywhere near the top I couldn't have gone any harder anyway. Like I said, very very steep.

The views across the lough are stunning.

Note
(rest day)

Late enough leaving work, could have squeezed in training but didn't........I reckon Slieve Martin tomorrow will be plenty.
Also it looks like I could be running more like 10 miles on Monday........
