Sunday Feb 7 #

12 PM

Running 37:25 [2] 5.01 km (7:28 / km) +25m 7:17 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine Trail

Long Run. Flip 5k is a long way, when you're sluggish as a turtle.
Hauled myself round it (didn't enjoy too much but then I did choose a route involving a dual carriageway) and yay, done :)

Friday Feb 5 #

Strength & Conditioning (Wildfoot) 45:00 [1]

Was up in plenty of time today....and managed to be almost 15 minutes late, by the time I wrestled with internet and other matters. Not difficult today but I used my new P-bars so expecting dip-related DOMS tomorrow

Thursday Feb 4 #

Strength & Conditioning (Pilates ) 1:00:00 [1]

With Ali, low intensity and I liked it
11 AM

Running 17:54 [2] 2.52 km (7:07 / km) +13m 6:56 / km
shoes: Saucony Peregrine Trail

Very interesting that the only time my pace changed was when it picked up on 200m of grass at the end.
This was mostly tarmac; I explored a slice of Davy's 10,000 steps walks he's been promoting for the Greenway. Wore "proper" shoes to give my calves a break. Not entirely sure it worked but I'll see over the next couple of days.
Miraculously, I didn't get rained on. Everywhere is sodden.

Wednesday Feb 3 #

Strength & Conditioning (Wildfoot) 55:00 [1]

Animal flow with Aga. I still find this so difficult - though she did reduce the number of reps this week. It was more about learning new movements.

Might be starting to unfathom the jumpy lungy thing she started to teach us last week.

All of this is very challenging for my knees - but ultimately very good for them I'd say.
9 AM

Running 19:04 [2] 2.51 km (7:35 / km)
shoes: Vivo Primus FG

So very wet out - even I bailed on the pitches, I would be sinking to my knees in mud. So this was 100% tarmac and shuffly - but even then I'm surprised my pace was so slow. I was just getting this done though, and I did that. Still very aware of my left calf, even after 3 rest days. Will give it some TLC this evening and will aim for 5 dedicated daily minutes of foot training this week.

River is crazy high. Conn O'Neill bridge at The Hollow has completely disappeared (like it was at the training weekend) and the water is pouring over the whole concrete wall.

All hail the gods of the Rivers Agency & Connswater Community Greenway for the flood prevention works, which means the river is tanking along, rather than tanking over the road and into the houses.
