Ha, been a while. Can't return to climbing yet, but the climbing gym I got a membership at here has a proper lifting cage, so why not.

Hang clean
Box step down
Push ups

Split jerk
Single leg lunge
Pullups

Bench press
Box jumps

In other news, company took all the interns bowling today. I messed my hand up earlier this week so I didn't bowl much, but it was nice to hang out with our mentors and the other interns. I told myself I'd only stay a half hour, and then suddenly it was 8 o'clock.

One if the interns here has drones as a hobby, and he took us out back after work to show us one of his many drones. It was insane! That thing could go 90mph, and he's got others that go faster but are less maneuverable. Apparently he goes to competitions and stuff where people fly their drones through obstacle courses and stuff.

Running long 1:42:46 [3] 18.57 km (5:32 / km)
shoes: Brooks PureGrit 6

Started at Bull Run Marina and headed South. The Occoquan trail is really nice to run on, miles and miles of lovely trail running on well maintained dirt paths in the forest.

This was probably the most effortless long run I've done in a while. I was planning to turn around after 8k but didn't look at my watch until I was 9 and a quarter in! Definitely will be coming back for more of my long runs here, and maybe also at Prince William.

Climbing 1:30:00 [1]

Felt a lot stronger today! But then I hit my hand really hard on a hold doing a dynamic move and messed up my middle finger pretty bad. I hope it heals quickly but it might be a week or two before I can go back :/

Orienteering (Long legs) 1:27:55 [3] 11.0 km (8:00 / km)
ahr:154 max:181

Practiced running long legs at Prince William Forest, and took all the roads and large trails off the map. It was really hot and humid, but thankfully the rain held out until after I left.

Definitely could have done a better job on this. I did a pretty good job navigating, but I had to stop myself a couple times and actually plan a route as I was leaving a control.

And we're backing business! Last time I went I had a lot of trouble and kept falling off of routes, because my strength and endurance are completely shot from 3 weeks of not climbing. Today though I got almost all the V3-V5s that I couldn't get last time, and that felt really good.

One of the staff was also nice enough to belay me up a 5.10b lead route, which I was able to finish without an issue.

Feels good to be back so quickly. I was worried I'd be spending weeks until I built back up. I definitely still have work to do, but I'm on the right track.

Climbing 2:30:00 [0]

Got a membership at the climbing gym right next to where I work! The bouldering cave is really small so I'm going to have to be really friendly to find some ropes partners over the next few weeks.

I was having a lot of trouble with a lot of the routes, I must have lost a lot of grip strength and endurance in the last few weeks because I would just fall off routes that I definitely should have been able to do. It'll come back, but I have a lot of work to do.
