Hiking 1:45:00 [2]
shoes: Orange Trail Runners

I went out on the Chimney Rock map with a car full of Tucson club members today. I walked down to Chimney Rock on the dirt road and enjoyed the beautiful scenery for a while, then walked back to the car. The others had varying success with the course that Max put out last week for the training week.

Hiking 45:00 [2]
shoes: Orange Trail Runners

I hiked on part of the Arizona trail while Cristina did a lot of hills today. It was a lovely walk and afterwards we went to the Velvet Elvis which is definitely worth going to if you're close to the border. I can see why all of those people from south of the border want to try to eat the great pizza there.

Running 50:00 [2] 4.0 mi (12:30 / mi)
shoes: Purple cow

Ooops I forgot my new Garmin again. Aside from that it was a perfect night for Meet me at Maynards. It was my third time but they only had me on record once before. After 8 times you get a free t-shirt so I don't mind delaying it by a week. I have way too many t-shirts.

So we grabbed a map and set out on the new course. It was a little different than in previous routes in that we ran up and down 4th ave for the last bit instead of running around some neighborhoods to the east. That was great because there are lots of interesting sights and people on 4th ave to keep your mind off of the actual running. For the first bit I felt pretty zippy because of my new shoes so the whole thing was great.

Skiing 1:30:00 [3]

Skiing today at Great Brooke Farms with the Sudbury gang. The snow was fantastic today. I went out on my own for an hour and did Lantern loop to high meadow to litchfield loop to Hillside. I did hillside x 3 because it was so much fun. Then I continued on the litchfield loop, crossed the street for a minute and then booked it back to the ski center because I was trying to make a one hour deadline. After a few minutes Cristina and I went out to find Caroline and but ended up doing the hillside loop once more. We actually did the chicken trail after that. I was thankful that Cristina and I had swtiched skiis because hers were so sticky that it was no problem going uphill. My little rentals had been very glidacious, perhaps coining a new phrase, making it harder to go uphill.
