Running (trail) 15:30 [3]

I was really in the running groove after my race on Sunday and after buying a snazzy new running outfit. So, I was pumped to run some trails at McAllister Park today. Phew. Until I stepped outside and felt the humidity. I ended up only running for about 15 minutes because of the heat/humidity and had to walk the rest of the way back to the car. Still I figure a little trail running and heat are good for training.

Running race 34:04 [5] 5.0 km (6:49 / km)

I felt like doing another race so we Cristina found the Cornyval 5K and volunteered to be my personal pacer/trainer for the event. I started out pretty fast and then settled into my goal pace of 11 min/mile. The last mile had a big hill that was not cool. I slowed down a lot during that section (note to self: think about adding some hills to my training). The upside to the hill was that we got to fly downhill towards the finish. I was surprised how well I kept to the goal time (thanks Cristina) and treated myself afterward to a coolmax shirt.
