Cristina made an ambitious plan for the long run today. Our original plan was to be on the bus at 9:47 but it was raining pretty hard in the morning and I stamped my little foot down so we waited 2 hours until the weather improved. Then we hopped on a bus and then got on a train for a few stops to Movann. I love that in Oslo we can even ride trains within zone 1 with just our normal monthly passes.
So, then we ran for a long time. Up, down, over, down, up - (ok I walked that part), then down. It started to rain after about the first hour but it wasn't too bad. Cristina and I even broke out into American Pie for a few minutes.
We went along the lake for the last bit and I definitely would have stopped if not for the promise of waffles at the kiosk. It was great to practically do a half-marathon with even more climb than I will expect in Tromsø.

After our fabulous hike over the weekend with Aly (visiting from Tucson via Belgium) I was a bit sore early in the week. Today I got out with Cristina and we headed towards Båntjern (the pond with a fabulous waterfall usually). It was great but I took a little spill in the beginning and I have a bit of road rash on my elbow and hands. Not too much. I remember we once had a patient with the worst roadrash I'd ever seen from a motorcycle accident, which was enough to turn me off of motorcycles for a while.
