Running race 1:00:21 [3] 10.0 km (6:02 / km)
shoes: Rainbow Brite

It was a great day for all of Oslo to turn out for Sentrumsløpet. Also a great day for a 10 K PR (last year I got 10138)! Without doing much running training I think that's pretty good. I also ran into Astrid afterwards and it was fun to catch up a bit.

So, the first 2K was super fun and easy. Even though it was uphill to the palace and Frogner park I was passing people left and right (because no one in Norway knows how to run in a group so they just walk or slow down whenever they feel like it with no regard for runners around them. Fun!) Up through the first 5K I felt pretty energetic. After the halfway point I had to really push myself not to slow down too much. The last 2k especially were pretty rough, just like last year. It was hot and some nice people with hoses were spraying the runners, which helped a lot until the last 2K when it didn't give me any kind of energy boost. I thought I could get in just under the hour mark so I tried kicking it in on the final stretch down Karl Johans. I ran out of steam and thought I might puke about a block or two away from the finish so that was a touch disappointing. I guess it would help to train for the one next year.
