Elliptical 20:00 [2]
shoes: Rainbow Brite

I've had a cold for about 4 weeks now but I seem to be getting better (serious readers may snort here as I've been writing this for approximately 3.5 weeks).

I headed off to the gym with Lukas in tow (you caught me, I was actually pushing him in his stroller), and dropped him off with lovely Paula in the kid room. I then surveyed the scene in the cardio room. Hardly anyone was there but there was a smattering of people on the treadmills and even a guy on the erg. Erg guy didn't have such horrible form that I needed to look away so I joined him (on a different erg), briefly, and played a little fish game to keep up my focus. It was as difficult as I remembered so I got off and tried out the elliptical. The problem with elliptical machines at my gym is that they don't have the sound system from the overhead TVs connected to them like the treadmills do.

On a treadmill I can hook up my headphones and find the station for one of 4 overhead TV programs. Dr. Phil is always on so we can forget abiout that one. NCIS San Diego is nearly alsways on but it wasn't this morning. Even my trusty Murder She Wrote was about half an hour away so I watched a show about Swedish guys touring the US in an RV and telling a lot of jokes. It was pretty entertaining but not as relaxing since I had to read the subtitles in Norwegian.

The exercise itself is pretty fun actually - much like running without the feeling that I'm going to coillapse. Then I did a little run/walk for about ten minutes and the running part wasn't so bad. I hope to run a bit more on Thursday!
