Annual turkey Trot in Buffalo. A good race for me. Was 10 seconds faster than last year. But, unfortunately was 10 seconds behind the guy in front of me who finished 2nd. Ran according to plan. Especially happy with the splits.

Note

Today Ben ran the Philadelphia Marathon and I was there to cheer him on. So I covered a lot of ground, going from the start to the 10K point to the 14 mile point, to the finish, all on foot. Ran into some nice people who were there to cheer on a runner of their own. Had to get up at 5 AM as his start was at 7 AM. I actually missed him in the finish chute because he finished earlier than either he or I thought he would. In other words, he had a great run. His time was 3:00:03. That will qualify him for Boston which was his main goal. He actually was hoping to run 3:05. The weather was brutal, about 40 degrees F and high gusty winds. Didn't seem to bother him though. We had nice accommodations in an Airbnb within walking distance of the start/finish. I had a tough drive back through heavy snow in central NY.
