Intended to go to the cemetery but it was closed due to the high winds. They were afraid a tree would fall on an unsuspecting mourner or runner. It was a blustery day but over 32 degrees.

Monday Dec 4 #

1 PM

mapping 1:54:28 [2] 1.6 mi (1:11:32 / mi) +221m 50:04 / mi

This was the time spent in Hunters Creek. In the morning I was at Chestnut Ridge updating that map in the area where the tornado hit. Pretty impressive damage in the forest. All of the fallen trees in the open areas and on the trails had been cleaned up.

Sunday Dec 3 #

10 AM

mapping 5:42:29 [2] 4.55 mi (1:15:16 / mi) +349m 1:00:47 / mi

The strangest thing happened in Hunters Creek Park while I was mapping. I ran into a Swede. He knew all about orienteering of course. He had just moved to the Buffalo area last March with his wife and son.
