Tsitsikamma ultra trail. Planned to take it easy as I don't have much distance in my legs, hiked the ups and jogged the downs all they way until the bloukrans hut, then I started feeling it, hiked a lot more from there on.

Very cool route with the first 30km quite technical with a number of climbs, longer climbs than otter, but not as steep. Second half still has some technical/steep sections but a lot more runable (if you can run), about 70% of the route is in forest, varying from plantations to natural, very cool rivers crossings and plenty of spots to refill.

Definitely worth going back again, book flights a bit earlier otherwise logistics are pretty easy.

Small field of 30 runners, I finished midway, after being in 10th most of the way. Everyone walking funny at the end :)

No injuries for me. Very happy with the prep for EA.

Very busy tt tonight, I was sleeping off the start and got boxed in, never got into the front bunch. They finished on the same time as I did last week. On 2nd bunch with Couve, Phineas and a Scarc lightie. Felt strong.

Hiked and ran sections of the ribbok trail with Piers and Michelle. Was tired by the end of the weekends training.

Ribbok is a really awesome trail through golden gate national park, many wildlife sitings including a rinkals, I stood about 20cm away from its tail.
