Paddle 43:23 [3] 10.0 km (4:20 / km)

Seem to be over my tiredness after loads of sleep.

Actually a k3 tt tonight. With Corel & Alistair. We went hard from the start and pushed the last few laps after getting into a good rhythm. Some say it may be the k3 record!

Paddle 2:32:02 [3] 32.02 km (4:45 / km)

Gauteng river k1 marathon champs... Basically from as high up as you can paddle on the klip.

I was feeling buggared after yesterdays race, so wasn't keen on paddling this morning, especially with the cold conditions.

The race started with a 200m portage to spread the field out, i got to the put in about 8th, but go in my boat 2nd and got onto front bunch comfortably... Sad there for about 4km's with 5 other boats until i had a swim and a biggish drop.. I lost contact with the top guys there. Luckily they all decided to portage a rather big rapid called devils toilet bowl, which I successfully shot making it back up to Alex and Kelvin in 5th-7th place... I was still feeling pretty tired but hung on through some pretty technical sections with nice rapids and tight channels... eventually losing the sprint for 4th to Alex R around 4.5min of the lead.

Paddle a Gara GP2, so much better than my current river paddle, blades are smaller and more through the water a lot better... And they are made by Hank (newly crowned double world marathon champ)!

SUP 1:15:26 [3] 9.86 km (7:39 / km)

Emmies 10km SUP race. SUP racing is a lot harder than I thought... I raced on a starboard 14 ft x 23", one of the faster board around, having just learnt to turned properly this week. I had a good start in about 6th place, trying to hang onto two waves of regular SUP paddlers from durban, eventually realising that I was working way too had. I started to take major strain from lap 4 with 6 more to go. Ended about 9/25-30 paddlers, not too bad considering the limited time on the board and good fun.
