CTC with my bro. After a nasty night, the day turned out to be sunny and cooler. Started out going W then S and planning to make a big CCW loop. There were 42 CPs, and we planned to drop a lot of the 20s and a couple others that you had to go out of your way for. Averaging 3-4 CPs an hour, we made good time and were staying on course for our predictions. About the halfway point, we were heading to 59 when I put down my compass to enjoy some delicious PopTarts. Instead of going N to the next spur, we somehow took a left that brought us up on that went SW. Silly PopTarts. Annoying but not the end of the world. We decided to head up to the road and attack the northern half CW, making a big figure 8 for the course. It cost us the big 59 but gained us a couple others we were planning to skip. I slipped jumping a creek in the morning and smashed my foot btwn 2 rocks, so it's swollen and bruised now. Only other real mistake was in the NE corner at 57. Instead of staying low and going around to 28, I let Cory talk me into taking the pipeline back up to the road and down to 21. It was not only a lot longer but also an extra climb. Boo. We considered getting 22 on the way back in (~1.5K O&B with 250' elevation change) but called it a day and finished in daylight. Great day to be out in the woods with my bro. It's been a long time. We were told 2nd or 3rd in our division, but I'm not sure.
