Let Girls Ride ride in solidarity of the ride going on in Rwanda. Julie's daughter is in Rwanda with the Peace Corps and working to get bikes for women and also change the social perceptions and acceptance of women riding bikes. Fundraiser and overall amazing ride with TBL peeps. Started from Hayes Point, rode into DC, past the marathon course, zoo, to Sticky Fingers, the true starting point and a women-owned bakery that was a bike team. Rode to Bourbon Coffee, run by Rwandans, and back eventually to the starting point. Saw the National Cathedral, which is stunning and massive when seen up close.

Spin around Wakefield. Finally put the saddle from the Era on Peri. Not sure why I didn't do that from the beginning. Would have saved my backside some grief.

CC Spins #2. 35 or so women for this one! Ran away from the field for the win. Managed to finagle my way into the front row, although they didn't give up the space easily. The girl on my left eventually told me it was her first bike race ever. What better place to start than front and center! Huge turnout and amazing cheering section in the pit. I started out in 2nd, and the gal who led out promptly laid her bike down right in front of me at the bottom of the main 180 downhill turn. No way to get around her and ran over her wheel. Lots of crashes on the turns tonight. Managed to avoid them all. With the stop at the beginning, it took me a few laps to catch Lizzie, one of our stud team juniors, who was riding in 2nd. Passed her and just kept hitting the gas. Felt like I was riding the redline the full 20 laps. Seriously the coolest atmosphere for a race. Lizzie was on the podium with me...TBL going 1-2! Michael Berry rode a lap with me prior to the race and showed me all of his angles and turning points. Made it more efficient and easier to pedal through the 90 degree turns.
