finally did the full commando loop. Surprised it only took around 2 hrs.
Would be nicer at a quieter time as sandfly road was a bit close-passey.
might also be nicer doing it the other way so that sandfly is down, but would suffer with uphill on the highway and up bonnet.

mt field west.
Packed heavy expecting it to be real cold up there, as it was 4deg at the base, but it was actually really warm once up.
cracking scenery, but quite slow going... i really struggle with this type of terrain... consistent ankle-breaking angular rocks and my lower legs, even my arms were getting quite fatigued.
A big boulder field on the direct route which was also slow going.
Just prior to the summit was cracking - with pillow grass etc and marshy alpine terrain... Northern UK fell-ish. Views incredible with huge inversion to the west.
Rolled both ankles multiple times... think maybe poles would have helped.

Cam back via the tarns so that it would be a bit more runnable... at the turnoff to tarnshelf track, decided to go via the lakes, which added a bit more time.

Pretty exhausted back at the car, but mostly because i hadn't really prepped for 5 hours out there. Only took 1L (which was fine with mtn springs) but total drank only 2L... should have drank more. 3 bars.
