Queenstown marathon - 3:06:51 25th/2000ish

Very undulating course, steep inclines and declines, I would call it a non-technical trail run, so happy with the time, which would probably equate to sub 3 on flats.
Ran a bit fast for the first 10, and found my legs couldn't quite keep the heart rate up where I wanted it from 25k or so even though my lungs were good. Was able to chat to other runners etc as if it were a trail race rather than a Marathon. Long steep hill around32km meant a >5min/k split there.
Beautiful trail, just stunning, and I enjoyed it the whole way, without hitting the wall at any stage. Satisfied. Bodes well for London!

Note
slept:6.0 (rest day)

Taper - rest day
Legs feeling rubbish. Aching feet and tightness down left chain. Left achilles a bit troubling. Not worried (although must be a bit stressed, didn't sleep great), i normally get a bit hypercondriatic during taper.
Will do some mobilisation tonight.

Running 19:58 [1] 3.81 km (5:14 / km) +14m 5:09 / km
shoes: GT2000 Yellow

Taper - Very short easy run.
So hot out and ran at midday, so the route pretty much consisted of running from shade to shade.
Opened up a for some lengths on the way back.

Generally legs aren't feeling perfect... ankles/achilles a bit achey and lower abs, but lungs are feeling great. Full rest day tomorrow should take care of all that.

Taper - short and easy wander around operahouse... still haven't seen the seal yet tho :(

Strength & Conditioning (Stretching) 10:00 [3]

Forgot my key, so extended stretch and hip mobilisation waiting to tailgate someone.
