Muogamarra reserve with Brooner and Keelan. Forgot how much i love running on fresh trails... even the firetrails were so enjoyable.
Played around with hiking the steeps with a faster cadence (which i noticed watching OCC). Seemed pretty good, especially when switching back to running.

ffs lost my bikelock key in the bush, so had to leave my bike in the reserve and run back to the pie shop for beer. Good excuse to sneak in midweek to retreive it.

well this was crazy.
I've been thinking about doing a map of kyeemah for a while... from sattelite it looks like a fairly unique area... furthest east is the beach and parks, theres a bike trail around some urban areas... there are some market gardens, some wetlands, some overpasses/underpasses, and playing fields.... but i'd never actually seen any of it!
turns out its kinda a web of trails through wierd overgrown shrubbery, with pockets of supposed homeless people's spots etc. The playing fields SEEM abandoned completely... and the only way i could find in was a hole in a rusty fence, the stadium is basically falling down, and theres this huge area of wetland basically under the motorway.
I didn't actually jump through any fences or see any signs anywhere, but i'm still not completely sure i'm actually allowed to be anywhere on the run, despite there being little trails and big vechicle tracks... perhaps the playing fields are in the process of being taken over by a concrete business there...

Anyway i'll do a rough map of the area, and definately go back... it's so unique, but a little scary thinking about the kind of people and/or things you could find down some of the dodgier bits...
Some research says it's called "Barton park" and theres a group trying to "saveBartonPark.com". some details here http://postcardsydney.com/barton-park-banksia/

Was supposed to be an hour or so, ended up being 2.5 hours with no food or water. shattered when i got home.

[EDIT] Glenn has suggested its earmarked for westconnex / freeway work which might make some sense.

CP on the way to work. Felt slow and was slow. Blaming the backpack/Dlock etc.
Tried keeping HR at 150 on the second lap. Crazy how much harder 150 is on the bike compared to 150 on the run...

Still looking for a reasonable way through the city at that time without being stop/start on kent st. will try hunter st next time https://goo.gl/maps/3uN7gHvhz9s

HuRTS 'gate-to-gate' (900m) with a (long) 2mins rest
wasn't sure how the achilles would fare here, but after the first rep got into a groove and progressively faster with seemingly less effort. Just behind the front of the pack, consistent sub-3 apart from the first 3:10. very happy with that given current recovery.
Did 7 then skipped the last one to check out a bit of my map i wasn't sure of.

Jog in. legs starting to feel a bit better, but i think more trashed than other CCs... looking back last year, i did a 24km tempo the tuesday after at 4min/kms... can't imagine doing that...

L achilles pretty tender.
A few mobility/stretching drills while running.
