Snacking and control pickup.

Orienteering 2:39:06 intensity: (37 @0) + (16:00 @1) + (45:45 @2) + (55:10 @3) + (27:54 @4) + (13:40 @5) 7.32 mi (21:44 / mi) +314m 19:11 / mi

Silver Lake Red Course. Sigh. I totally tanked the first 3 controls, and just about gave up. But pressed on and things got better. I don't hve any explanation other than I could not get the map to match the terrain to 1, then going to 2 I don't know what I was thinking and then to 3 I found myself waaaaay west. I had to tell myself to get it together! Once I knew where I was I made my way slowly to 3, then 4, and bobbled 5 a bit and actually considered crossing the swamp -- but my brain pushed to the trail, and so I went on the trail and felt like I had a bit of a better flow from 6 on.

Goign to 7 I had a parallel error, I went right past 9 (gr), totally used the swamp to get to the spur for 10, crossed the spur and swap for 11 (little tricky in there) then trail 12. Off to 13 almost got distracted by the pretty spur. I had to stop and think about 14. Then said nope hit the trail to the T to the depression to the reentrant. 15 and 16 were fine but slow so I could stay in contact with the map...then 17 and back. Better, but gosh I got to 4 at 1:10...Gah. one of these days it will come together. Keeping the faith but want to practice more.

Runnable woods? Sigh. We need to talk.

Peach Mountain training with Jens. Some very cool features and legs that were really good for me to do. I don't have the map in front of me to analyze it all but I have to work in o training several times a month as far as I am concerned over the winter. Working on a winter training plan.

Little trot around bishop. Took it easy very slippery! Was with my neighbor and she wasn't interested in any of my hill repeat out and back nonsense and now she knows Mr. Dubs has her back.

First mission was to find some two track to practice on, thought I saw some off Rushton and Silver Lake, but there were either no trespassing signs or a barrel. So wen to my beloved badlands and biked up a couple of hills I use for hill repeats on foot. Went better than expected.
