Note
Bumped my watch, so multiple entries to keep an eye on my route. I generally felt ok with the navigation, just completely screwed up timing because I consistently thought I had another half hour and as a result made a bad choice to pursue the western part of the map instead of heading south at 44. I had about an hour or more left at that point, and instead of 200, I think I could have gotten 290 heading back. Bummer.
Was a little shaky to start, but once at 57 I went back and forth with Misovski until heading to 63, I realized I had bumped my watch. Unfortunately, the 8 min on my watch is what I had in my head (what the heck was I thinking) then overshot my attack, came back, was asked by Tim and Mark about 35, got confused becuase it was no where near, got to the top of the hill, and I only thought I saw a diseased tree. Um, no, a super old flag as I re-attacked! GAH! Lost maybe 20 minutes with this "excursion." went super conservative to 35 and 44, then assessed I had over an hour which in hindsight I still don't know what I was thinking. Saw Ian coming out of 34 and he said "you know we only have 15 min left." Ran hard, and was determined to punch 31 to offset the possibility of coming in late.
Live and learn!
Couldn't wear my glasses...fogged too much. :(
