Quincy Homebrew, Day 1. I took quite a nasty fall on the way to 14 and smashed my shin/calf up, nothing super serious but definitely some severe contus(ing?) on both the front/outside and back/inside muscles - I feel lucky to have come away with nothing worse than that plus assorted trivial scrapes and bruises. It was my own fault for being careless going down a steep scree slope. Tried to walk/jog it off but turned out not to be doable so had to abandon the course and limp back to the finish.
It happened to occur as I was just a few steps behind Jourdan, and being a true sporting gentleman he gamely checked to make sure I wasn't dead. I assured him I was indeed alive and encouraged him to continue his race, which he did.
Depending on how you look at it, either the unfortunate thing or the silver lining is that I was having a very good run to that point. I was feeling strong and navigating crisply for the most part (aside from a small mistake at 3 which was mainly due to a weird control placement), and had caught up to Jourdan after starting 4-5 minutes behind.

Route Gadget. Really fun area and excellently unique O-terrain, if a bit more rocky underfoot than past Quincy venues.
