Frenchman Spring middle. RG, splits. This was bittersweet; I was having an awesome run up through 13 and was leading with fully 1:34, only to go totally rogue and give almost all of it back on 14, bobble 15 slightly while still a bit out of sorts, and lose out on speed to Woodsman and Bonesaw over the last couple controls to finish 13s and 9s behind, respectively. However, really happy with my fitness and execution, other than 14.

BAOC local event @ Joe Grant. Watch died so no GPS. Hammy was doing well this week then for whatever reason it started bugging me on Thursday. Not painful, just that vague sense of something not being quite right, but nonetheless I was pessimistic about running today. Felt okay this AM though, so I decided to at least start and see how it went. This may have been inadvisable, but it turned out well and I was able to make it through, it seems without causing further damage.

My fitness was terrible and navigation not much better, but of course these things are irrelevant when every moment your brain is half-worried about breaking yourself rather than focused on racing. Enjoyable course, though very steep at times, and nice to chat with some of the BAOC folks like Dennis, Rex, Francois and Marie-Josee.
