Monster tailwind from the south again. Unfortunately, something popped my tire like a balloon while going over the South Park bridge; since this occurred next to Pink Socks' former location of employment, the culprit was likely some chunk of airplane they forgot to ply with the requisite Elmer's Glue before flight tests.
I put my spare tube on, but apparently that has a hole in it too. Rude. So I walked my dumbass 4.5 miles home.

The pandemic is becoming more personal; my brother-in-law's cousin, who lives in Seattle, as well as a neighbor down the street from my parents' house in Kirkland have contracted COVID-19, though happily both are now recovered.
However, I learned that a soccer referee I've worked with a bunch times over the past 2-3 years passed away of the virus this weekend. He was a genial grandfatherly kind of guy, maybe around 70, known fondly in the referee community for being a bit oblivious at times because his hearing wasn't great. Because of this, he'd only work AR positions; when one or other of the crew members would ask before the game, "Hey Rick, which side you want?" he'd always reply with the same line: "Any side as long as it's not the coaches' side!" We will miss him.
