McClellan Butte. The app said this was some 9 miles roundtrip, so I was displeased when I passed the ~4.5 mark and was not yet there - not because of the distance in itself, but because the weather had become unpleasantly rainy and a bit cold, and I only had a light shell.

Didn't make it to the very top because the very top looked like this:

I was aghast; the maps show the trail going all the way to the top, but it's surely madness for the average hiker to attempt this. I am fairly adventurous when it comes to this kind of thing, but am definitely not comfortable going up an uneven rocky climb in the rain with a sheer cliff on the left and a steep slope of jagged wet rock on the right, leading down to more cliffs. On a clear, dry day I'd *maybe* think about it.

Running 1:13:33 intensity: (6:20 @1) + (17:50 @2) + (26:07 @3) + (23:16 @4) 4.78 mi (15:23 / mi) +50m 14:54 / mi

Being unpleasantly wet, I wanted to get back to the car sooner rather than later, so I jogged much of the way down. As such we will cheat a bit and call this running. Don't tell anyone.

#MountainMonday

Granite (Planite) Mountain. Tough climb, some excellent rock scrambling on the final bit approaching the top. Fairly cloudy at the lookout tower but I could at least see across the pass to Keechelus Lake. I forgot headphones and had to wear only my fourth-favorite pair of shorts, so equipment was not ideal - but I did remember a mask this time.

Ride to the family 4th of July gathering. America has done little worthy of celebration this year, though at least Mississippi's state flag doesn't include an overt symbol of racial genocide anymore. So that's something I guess.

A 3k. Haven't been on a track in ages so this was painful and didn't feel awesome, but I stuck to the somewhat conservative plan of running 88s and not starting too fast. And not injuring myself.
