A nice bucolic rural loop. Didn't feel too good in general, but the middle section was also a bit lumpier than I thought.

Stampede Pass training Round 2. I tried to set a course with less climb than the first one, but I set a course with more. What you gonna do. This course also had some ill-advised legs that were gnarlier than hoped/expected, primarily 8 and 19. I saw *another* not-small snake; this one was on the trail in front of me and I just had time to run-jump past and yelp as it slithered into the brush. The snakes are growing bolder. This guy was again near the lake, so in theory it could be the same guy from last time. In addition to the snek, Rick and Ryan B, Sue, and Ing were present doing various of Peteris' designs.

Enchantments through-hike with my sister and brother-in-law. This is perhaps the most fabled/well-known hiking area in the state, so definitely a bucket list item. We started ~730a and finished ~615p, going west to east (i.e. the "easy" way with net downhill and all the climb in the first third), setting a good pace on the ascent and descent and taking it easy in the core zone.

We saw some 14 mountain goats including several mom-baby pairs. It was touch and go for a while as to whether number of goats seen or number of sandwiches consumed would be higher, but in the end the goats were victorious by the count of 14-12. We also ran into local orienteer Greg Barnes and his wife; I first noticed him because he was wearing a SART shirt.
