Much better than yesterday; no big mistakes, just one route choice on the long leg 2 which turned out to be ill-chosen. Some bobbles finding point features in the circle in a couple places - 13 in particular, which I thought was a dubiously mapped knoll. Couldn't match the speed of Joe and Danny - impressive racing by those guys.

Junior Nationals Day 1. Truly an awful run with two large, dumb mistakes and several smaller ones. I haven't orienteered in over a month, so naturally I blew 3min on the first control while remembering how to read maps and such. Also 5min on 11. Just yuck. It's a good thing I'm not emotionally invested in results anymore - but once that happens, your results get worse. A dilemma.
